The Sal Salinero Villa Hotel is located in Moshi town itself and is a fantastic accommodation option for those planning to climb Kilimanjaro or especially after the Kilimanjaro climb is completed. The Sal Salinero Villa is set in the most remarkably beautiful, carefully landscaped tropical gardens, and its swimming pool is perfectly placed to view the towering peak of Mount Kilimanjaro looming over Moshi.

The Kindoroko Hotel is situated right in the center of Moshi, with a fantastic view from the roof terrace of Mount Kilimanjaro looming over the small town. The Kindoroko Hotel provides a clean and comfortable option for the mid-range traveller, staffed by friendly people and providing a range of accommodation options right in the heart of Moshi. All the rooms are basic but clean and comfortable, with western standard bathrooms and showers.

Aishi Machame

Conveniently located at the base of Kilimanjaro in the town of Moshi, Aishi Machame has spectacular views of the famous Kibo and Mawanzi peaks, which are usually snow covered. The lodge is owned by the Protea Group, so quality is always at the top of the list at this Lodge. The lodge is also the ideal location to start your trip up Kilimanjaro as it is situated close the the Machame Gate.

Keys Hotel

Located on Uru Road in Moshi, Keys Hotel has 15 bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms and air conditioning. Some of the executive rooms also have satellite TV, an in-house video and a mini bar. Keys Hotel also boasts 15 traditional thatched bandas, equipped as either double or triple rooms. The bar in Keys Hotel offers a wide range of drinks and the restaurant serves a buffet breakfast, full meals and all-day bar snacks. Room service is available.

We said goodbye to our fantastic crew at breakfast, with Kili standing majestically in the background blanketed again in a fresh layer of snow. The final hike down on Day 6 was not too bad. We had a celebratory Kilimanjaro Beer at the lunch stop, and we all felt quite energised. I ran the last 9km. Well maybe that's a bit of an exageration!
