L`Oasis

 

Located within Arusha, in a residential suburb, L'Oasis allows you to experience Tanzanian cultural at its best, while still being in reach of the other tourist attractions in the area. The Lodge offers accommodation for middle and low budget travellers.
Accommodation at L'Oasis comes in the form of a guest rooms or traditional cottages, with each bed having a mosquito net, and the rooms having ensuite bathrooms. The 12 communal rooms offer a shared bathroom for the more budget traveller. All rooms have some spectacular views of Mt Kilimanjaro as well as Mt Meru.
 
There are 2 dining areas at L'Oasis, the main restaurant serves delicious breakfast as well as continental cuisine such as seafood, vegetarian and meat dishes, this restaurant is influenced by European, African and Asian styles of food preparation. The Lounge is the ideal place to relax next to the pool, while having a drink from the well stocked bar or even enjoying a snack from the menu, such as pizzas or wraps. The restaurants are quite a dining experience and will leave you with some mouth watering taste sensations.
 
Activities are high on the priority list when visiting the lodge. You may wish to cycle through the foothills of Mt Meru or simply go for s relaxing nature walk in the surrounding areas. It is also advisable to do a tour of Arusha, as this hub for tourists offers some intersting sights.

  We said goodbye to our fantastic crew at breakfast, with Kili standing majestically in the background blanketed again in a fresh layer of snow. The final hike down on Day 6 was not too bad. We had a celebratory Kilimanjaro Beer at the lunch stop, and we all felt quite energised. I ran the last 9km. Well maybe that's a bit of an exageration!
