Ngare Sero Camp

Lake Natron Ngare Sero Camp is the height of luxury in extreme conditions. Set under camouflage netting to disguise the camp and reduce its impact on the awe-inspiring landscape, the Ngare Sero Camp has only eight luxury tented rooms, each one well furnished with a full-sized bed, electric reading lamps, and an ensuite bathroom with shower and toilet.
The tents provide comfort and luxury, while still retaining that sense of wilderness and remoteness found in this unique place. The camp is located along the banks of a freshwater stream flowing into Lake Natron, and the stream attracts hundreds of birds as well as providing a relaxing natural spot to wade about and cool down in the heat of the African sun.

Ngare Sero Camp can arrange a number of excursions in the local area including camel safaris, walking safaris, and of course you can arrange to climb Oldoinyo Lengai - usually done by night, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. There are local guides to take you on cultural tours to nearby Masai villages, or you can borrow a tube and simply float downstream in the soothing water.

We had a celebratory Kilimanjaro Beer at the lunch stop, and we all felt quite energised. I ran the last 9km. Well maybe that's a bit of an exageration!
