Arusha Surrounds

Arusha has more to offer than simply the facilities of any modern African city. Its immediate surroundings encompass some of Tanzania's most accessible and fascinating natural landscapes and national parks, and within only a few hours drive lies the Serengeti National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, and of course Mount Kilimanjaro.

Immediately on the outskirts of Arusha itself lies Arusha National Park, which includes within its borders the spectacular collapsed volcano of Mount Meru. Only an hour's drive from the centre of town brings you to this beautiful haven of wildlife, where you can enjoy a classic Tanzania safari game drive, or go hiking or trekking on the slopes of Mount Meru. Arusha National Park is the perfect place to start a Tanzania safari, combined with a Kilimanjaro climb or a longer safari across more of Tanzania's natural wonders.
