Gombe Stream National Park

Gombe Stream National Park is of course most famous for the research undertaken by Jane Goodall on chimpanzees. The wild chimpanzee communities of Gombe have over time become habituated to the presence of humans, meaning that it is possible to approach and observe closely without disturbing or upsetting the animals.

Gombe Stream National Park is located on the shores of Lake Tanganyika in the west of Tanzania. With mountains rising dramatically out of the eastern shores of the lake, and white sandy beaches between the thick forest and the sparkling blue waters, Gombe provides an exciting location to add to any Tanzania safari itinerary.
