Northern Circuit -> Mount Kilimanjaro -> Kilimanjaro Peak

Kilimanjaro Peak

This is the arctic zone - there is no vegetation, freezing temperatures and little air to breath. It is possible to camp in the crater but this is not a good idea as you risk AMS.

Kilimanjaro has fumaroles that emit sulphurous gas into the crater on the summit of Kibo. In 2003 molten magma was apparently just 400m below the summit crater.
