Swahili Coast

The Swahili Coast runs down the Eastern coast of Tanzania and is a fascinating mix of white sandy beaches, bustling towns, old Arab ruins, lush forest and open bush. With the combination of the local African tribal culture, the Arabic influence, and the remains of the German and British colonial times, the Swahili Coast offers the visitor a range of landscapes, activities and cultural experiences.

From the bustling port city of Dar es Salaam to the isolated bush and beach of Saadani National Park, there is loads to see and do: visit the atmospheric ruins at Bagamoyo; go game driving through Saadani National Park; spend a day in the markets and museums of Dar es Salaam; experience the vitality and liveliness of the Swahili Coast for yourself. As a add-on to your Kilimanjaro climb,a few days along the Swahili Coast makes a short climbing holiday into a full African experience.
